Embrace the diversity of platforms as audiences consume content across various mediums each year. Award shows, especially, are enjoyed in countless personal ways – solo, with friends, while lounging on the sofa, or perhaps even in unconventional locations like the restroom.

In 2016, we unveiled a versatile and adaptable message to convey how viewers could relish the MTV EMA that year: Watch it... as you like.


The concept

The “watch the EMA’s as you like” enabled us to unify various platforms under a single global campaign theme, while emphasizing the central role of the linear show within the EMA universe.

We achieved an unprecedented level of engagement with our home audience by prioritizing fan-centric mobile integrations. In addition to the traditional linear broadcast, we extended the show's reach by live-streaming it on the MTV Play international mobile streaming video app, accessible in 25 markets, as well as on the official MTV EMA website.



The Campaign

Once again, we were entrusted with the exciting task of crafting the promotional campaign for the MTV EMA's, along with developing the promotional graphics package. This encompassed a wide spectrum of creative elements, including on-air promos, social media content, print materials, interactive experiences, and local activations. The avenues for connecting with the brand were truly limitless.

We conceived an image promo that served as the manifesto for the entire campaign. As you'll notice, the idea of “watching the EMA’s as you like”can take you to some unexpected and personal moments.

The central element of the campaign unveiled Bebe Rexha, the renowned singer, as the host for the 2016 MTV EMA's.
